Staff development presentations

  1. Traditional half-day (3-4 hours) or full-day (4-8 hours) programs on staff development days.
  2. A series of after school programs/meetings.
  3. Grade level meetings on one topic during the school day (requires substitute teachers, may be followed by an after school meeting).
  4. A meeting with teachers, followed by a demonstration lesson in a classroom with teachers in attendance, followed by debriefing session(s). (requires substitutes or classroom coverage during the meetings and the demo lesson, half-day per grade level)
  5. Sustained Staff Development-multiple days throughout a year on a specific topic

Consulting services

  1. Monthly meetings with a core team, steering committee or focus group to accomplish an articulated goal (curriculum development/revision, designing assessments, aligning to standards, textbook/materials selection and implementation, program/materials evaluation, designing/implementing instructional models)
  2. Research updates
  3. Needs assessment/analysis
  4. Plans for implementing state and federal initiatives (PI-34, NCLB, supplemental services, after school programs, paraprofessional development)
  5. Implement grants or serve as an external evaluator for grants

Chase/Pheifer & Associates educational staff development provides research-based programs to K - 12 teachers in the areas of reading/language arts and mathematics. We provide practical, hands on information through proven strategies with a particular emphasis on integrating reading and writing into the content areas. Our on site staff development programs are tailored to fit the needs of individual school districts and are designed to support local curriculum and state standards. We also provide consulting services for education reform, grant implementation and curriculum development and design, as well as sustained staff development programs. We are recognized for our experience and professional approach to staff development.

Our Consultants
Denise Pheifer and Patricia Chase have provided staff development in English Language Arts to Wisconsin schools for more than twenty years. Both are Adjunct Associate Professors of Reading/Language Arts at Cardinal Stritch University and bring years of classroom experience at all levels to their presentations.
